Enriching the Lives of Our Students

Specials are offered in every level of our School.

While the core academic subjects are taught every day, multiple opportunities exist throughout the week for our students to enrich their academic pathways through the arts, technology, physical activities and more!

Classes in the Visual Arts (“ART“) are taught weekly to students in all grades, including the Preschool.  Works of a wide variety of media are proudly displayed at the Annual Spring Art Fair, open to all school families and friends.

Students in all grades enjoy weekly “MUSIC” classes, where they learn about composers, music theory and more.  Two semi-annual concerts (Christmas and Spring) showcase the talents of all students and many also participate in the School Choir.  The Choir can be heard at the School’s monthly First Friday Masses, as well as Sunday Parish Masses.

Physical Education (“GYM“) classes are an important part of the week for all students.  Ensuring that all children have adequate time for organized physical activity, to supplement the regular free play at recess, is a priority for their health.

Learning a foreign language encourages our students to learn about the world around them.  Beginning in preschool, families select either Spanish or Italian for their weekly (bi-weekly beginning in 5th Grade) “LANGUAGE” classes.

Learning to safely and efficiently use technology is a key component of learning in the 21st Century.  Weekly “COMPUTERS” classes, in our recently remodeled Technology Room, are an integral part of the schedule for students in Kindergarten and up.

The love of books is one that can be learned at an early age.  From Preschool through 5th Grade, students visit our recently renovated School Library weekly.  In “LIBRARY” Class, they hear stories, enjoy themed crafts and choose a book to check-out until their next visit.

In addition to our Core subjects of Math and Science, all students have weekly “STEM” classes (bi-weekly for Middle Schoolers).  The focus is generally on Engineering and Technology and allows students to work through the engineering design process to learn how things work and how to improve on existing designs.  Our 3D printer, robotics materials and courses on artificial intelligence are among the tools that allow students to learn using the latest in technological advances.
